Adultery in Christianity is a grievous sin before God and almost every Church condemn it, but another twist has been added to the issue of infidelity in marriages.
This was witnessed in a Facebook discussion, in which men were asked to be more forgiving, prayerful and make an attempt to save their marriages when their wives commit adultery, as women are advised too when their husbands are involved in adultery.
This discussion was initiated by Obande Ideva Micheal who wrote in a post on social media that "U can't abandon ur wife because another man impregnated her; Sir, pray & save ur marriage. Abi na (is it) only woman dey (that should) save marriage?
Micheal's thought is coming on the heels of the almost one-sided approach by Christian leaders when the issue of infidelity comes up in Christian homes.
Husbands tend to find it difficult to forgive wives who commit adultery as the society at large tends to support this too, but this is not the same with wives, as the society quickly asks wives to save their marriage when the table turns around.
Supporting Micheal's statement, Àánú Olúwa advised husbands to hold on and save their marriages, by not allowing the devil to destroy their marriages.
"Don't let the devil take hold of your marriage. She needs you more than ever. Hold her close, this is the time to prove your love to her.
"Devil doesn't like when marriage is sweet, he always want to scatter it. Don't let devil scatter your marriage. Fight for your marriage," she advised.
