Chidinma winner of MTN Project Fame gives reason why she dumps secular music for gospel music.


Chidinma winner of the third season of the MTN Project Fame West Africa a singing competition in 2010 shared why she reverted from secular music to gospel music.


Chidinma who has record breaking secular songs like "Kedike", "Emi Ni Baller", and "Fallen in Love" with collaboration with other prominent secular Nigerian artists, such as Flavour, Phyno, and M.I Abaga, shared her testimony of been blind from birth and how her mum reached a covenant with God that changed forever changed her life.


Chidinma revealed that she was blind from birth and despite every medical efforts available to her parents she was still unable to regain her sight and this made her parents worried. 


She mentioned that her mum resolved to pray and fast, and became frequent in the Church, which eventually resulted in her eyes getting functional as she could see, which made her Mum make a covenant with God, by dedicating her to God. 


Chidinma admitted that leaving God who is her source resulted in her feeling unfulfilled in all her endeavours despite achieving great thing. "Everything I have tried to do outside of God, I feel like never really worked because of that covenant," she mentioned in a video interview. 


She added that venturing into gospel music has helped her to make use of her platform and talents to share her faith and testimony about the fulfillment of returning to God and His faithfulness, and the efficiency of prayer. 


Chidinma implored those who are like her and have tried other options, should find their way to God, their source as the only way to fill the vacuum in their lives is through Jesus Christ.
