Pastor Poju Oyemade advise on give generously to the church
Pastor Poju Oyemade

Presiding Pastor of the Covenant Christian Centre, Pastor Poju Oyemade has revealed what those who give freely in the Church must be concerned about as they give to the Church and congregation.

Pastor Poju revealed this in an article on Facebook, in which he warned that those who give to the Church must be wary of members of the congregation that make comments that could make them arrogant.

He counselled that "I have seen this happen over and over again in Church work to those who have some gifting. They are given some opportunity to contribute. They get some results and suddenly it gets to them and they start thinking it is all about them.

"They hear some comment from one or two individuals about how blessed they were by their contribution and they keep replaying that in their head until it starts showing in their attitude. They don't understand what went on in the background to make their "star" shine."

He mentioned that some of those who find themselves in such situations may "decide to pull out of the system to establish theirs but fail to create a similar system around them because they erroneously think it was just about them. Failure sets in and they get offended."

Oyemade implored that the best action to take is to focus on what role God want them to play. "See, when God starts moving through you, stay humble. Speak less about yourself and listen more," he encouraged.
