Chris Oyakhilome and white garment church
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

An article credited to Imoledayo Immanuel, narrates how Pastor Chris Oyakhilome accepted a request to minister in a branch of a white garment church, the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement in Nigeria. Generally, the doctrines of white garment churches are often condemned by a good number of those who attend Pentecostal churches.

Imoledayo Immanuel wrote: Pastor Chris was invited to a C & S church to preach and he went there with some of his church elders. Immediately they got to the church entrance, they ask them to remove their shoe.

The elders of his church that followed him laughed and insist they will enter the church with their shoes that the C & S are still ignorant of the fact that our body is the temple of God and not a building. Pastor Chris looked at them and here is what he told them:

I am the one invited here to preach the message and you followed me, right? They said yes sir. I will remove my shoe and enter so you all must remove your shoe as we go in there to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

He told them, to learn to be submissive to the authority of a place they find themselves as long as it's not against Christ Jesus . He told them that he doesn't believe that a man should remove his shoe to enter the church but he's not the authority here so he needs to submit to the leadership of the church authority.

Pastor Chris preached with his barefoot in the church and after his message, he won many souls to the kingdom of God as he led the altar call for those ready to receive Jesus Christ.

When he got back to his church he told his brethren that what matters most in Christianity is LOVE regardless of our diverse views on doctrine or practices. When we love each other we easily bear with one another with understanding and we grow together in Christ Jesus till he comes for his church.
