Demons are the reason behind the desire to react when others hurt you, says Pastor Poju Oyemade.
The founder of The Covenant Nation (TCN) formerly known as Covenant Christian Centre made this declaration in a sermon posted on his Facebook page.
Pastor Poju opined that to engage demonic forces in any warfare, one must be tactical by following the process as laid down in the Bible.
To easily defeat demons, he advised Christians not to make pronouncements or actions that will make demons justify bringing evil into their lives because they are not mindful of what they say or their actions while dealing with others.
Oyemade explained that demons instigate others to misbehave, then push them to treat Christians wrongly, but Christians must never react negatively or say hurtful things which the demons will hold on to as a reason to bring trouble into their lives. He revealed that by doing so, demonic force will not have any reason to find grudges in one's heart, therefore making it difficult to cause one any trouble.
He advised using the illustration of a sane driver who have to avoid competing with someone who is driving under the influence of alcohol, "When people are misbehaving and treating you wrongly just look at them as drunk drivers…, park, allow them to go their way, don't struggle with them."
Additionally, he also declared that to fight demonic forces one must do what the Bible says, "worship Jesus." He mentioned that the early Church made use of Psalms to defeat warfare they faced.
"That is what happened to them at the early Church. They found it in Psalms 2 and they took… (the) Psalms there and they prayed that Psalms and there was an outpouring of the spirit for the fulfillment of that particular thing they needed, he revealed.
Oyemade implored Christians to follow in the steps of the early Church, by ensuring they act decisively through prayers by making use of Psalms to pray.
