The leadership of the Eternal Sacred Order Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Yaba, Lagos has demoted and suspended the prophets who were exposed in an investigative series #ProphetOfTheirPockets by a journalist, Fisayo Soyombo in a series.
In the report, Fisayo Soyombo has visited the Celestial Church of Christ, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, two Islamic clerics and a Catholic Church in Lagos Island all in Nigeria.
The report found certain clerics of both Christian and Islamic faith wanting as they could not physically exposed the journalist's intentions as prophets and engaged in some financial and material dealing which the journalist described as unnecessary.
In a fresh report by the Foundation of Investigative Journalism, the media house which reported the series, it was made known that the prophets of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Church exposed in the series have been punished by the Church.
A high ranking member of the Church who spoke under anonymity revealed to FIJ that the Church's prelate, HME Elder Bob-Manuel, instituted an disciplinary committee when the Church heard about the FIJ's report on social media to ascertain the gravity of the allegations made against the prophets.
FIJ mentioned that its source reported that " panel found the prophets (Prophet Madu Chiboka, Dike and Prince Johnson) guilty and consequently demoted and suspended them from the Church, and that the verdict was communicated to Church members on Tuesday via the Church’s social media platform."
