Iyinoluwa Aboyeji on Tinubu's government

Pastor and Tech entrepreneur Iyinoluwa Aboyeji has called on Nigeria's incoming administration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu to embrace the country's growing tech community as it's a sector capable of providing positive numbers for the nation's economy.

In two separate tweets, Aboyeji, who is the co-founded of online payment platform Flutterwave and Andela a global job placement network for software developers, appealed that the incoming government which is to be sworn in on May 29th should endeavour to either support or not obstruct the development of the country's tech sector.

"Less than 30 days to swearing in and I have only one plea for the new occupants of Aso Rock," he tweeted. "We would love it if you support our tech community. We believe it would be good for Nigeria. But even if you don’t want to support us please in the name of God don’t stand in our way."

Iyinoluwa who spoke at The Platform yesterday an event organised by The Convenant Nation advised Nigerian youth to believe in the country and be positive about the nation with the mindset that Nigeria will fulfill its potentials, saying "you can never innovate for a future you don't believe in", and added that Nigeria would become a trillion-dollar economy in his lifetime, as he wanted to be a part of that growth story. He also made a tweet about this.

The Nigerian tech sector has been seen as an important driver of the country's economic growth, with the government's promise of support to local start-ups. Despite this, the sector has also faced challenges, including undependable infrastructure and a lack of adequate funding.

He also had a message for the outgoing government of President Muhammadu Buhari, saying "whether you wished us well or you did us harm - believe me when I say we will not forget you. May God bless you."
